CA-CPT 2012


Common Proficiency Test June 2012 (Paper- Pencil Mode) will be held on Sunday, 17th June, 2012 in two sessions as below:
First Session (i.e. Morning Session) - 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM (IST)
Section - A Fundamentals of Accounting
Section - B Mercantile Laws
Second Session (i.e. Afternoon Session) - 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM (IST)
Section - C General Economics
Section - D Quantitative Aptitude

Application Process:
Applications for admission to Common Proficiency Test is required to be made in the relevant
prescribed form as contained in the Information Brochure, which may be obtained from the Additional Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110 002 on payment of Rs. 1000/- (Rs.500/- towards examination fee and Rs. 500/- towards cost of application form and Information brochure) per application form. The Information brochure containing Common Proficiency Test application form will also be available in the Regional and Branch Offices of the Institute and can be obtained there from on cash payment on or from 4th April, 2012.
Common Proficiency Test application forms duly filled in may be sent so as to reach the Additional Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi not later than 25th April, 2012. Applications received after 25th April, 2012 shall not be entertained under any circumstances.
The candidates who fill up the examination application form online at http://icaiexam.icai.org from 4th April, 2012 (10.00 hrs) to 25th April, 2012 (17.30 hrs) and remit the fee online by using either VISA or MASTER Credit/ Debit Card shall not be charged Rs. 500/- (i.e. cost of application form fee) in order to popularize filling-in of application form online.

Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to those students who are already registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the said course on or before 4th April, 2012 and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions.

Common Proficiency Test will be an objective type multiple choice questions based examination. Candidates will be allowed to opt for Hindi medium Question Paper Booklet for answering the questions.

BITSAT 2012

BITSAT 2012 is a Computer based online test for Admission to Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS Pilani Campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. It is a 3 hour test, conducted between 10th May 2012 and 9th June 2012.

- B.E. (Hons.): Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation, Mechanical, Manufacturing.
- B.Pharm. (Hons.)
- M.Sc. (Hons.): Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics
- M.Sc. (Tech.): General Studies, Finance, Information Systems

Eligibility
For admission to any of the Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS the candidate should have passed the 12th class examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Further, the candidate should have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th class examination, at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and adequate proficiency in English. However, admissions will be made only on his/her merit position based on the score obtained in BITSAT2012. Only Students who are appearing for 12th class examination in 2012 or who have passed the 12th class examination in 2011 are eligible to appear for BITSAT2012.

How to apply
Interested candidates should register for BITSAT 2012 by applying in the prescribed application form at http://bitsadmission.com. Deadline to register for BITSAT 2012 by filling the online form is 15th Feb 2012 at 5:00pm.

Date for BITSAT 2012: 10th May 2012 and 9th June 2012.

All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) 2012

The Veterinary Council of India (VCI) will conduct the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) 2012 on 12th May 2012. This exam is a gateway for admission to Bachelors of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry Courses (B.VSc. & AH) for the academic year 2012-13. The exam will be conducted by VCI to fill the 15% seats in governmental veterinary colleges. The duration of B.VSc. & AH degree course is spread over five complete academic years including a compulsory rotating internship of six months.

Eligibility criteria:
To be eligible for this exam, candidates should be Indian and candidates from state of Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible to appear for this exam as the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 has not been extended to this state.
Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Minimum marks for SC/ST and OBCs is 40%.
Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2012. Those attaining seventeen years on 1st January, 2013 or later will not be eligible for the admission.


Pattern of AIPVT:
It will be an objective type multiple choice paper and the duration of the exam will be 3 hours. This exam will cover the topics from PCB and the students will have to answer 200 questions in the prescribed time. It will be conducted in English language only and there will be negative marking for every wrong answer.

Registration Window:
Last date to register for the exam is 15th February, 2012 and students who belong to far flung areas like Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Lakshadweep and many others can submit the forms by March 3, 2012.

Application process:

Candidate can obtain the application form from Registrars of State Veterinary Councils on payment of Rs.1200/- for GC/OBC and Rs.600/- for SC/ST candidates through DD in favour of “Veterinary Council of India Examination Fund” payable at New Delhi on any scheduled bank. Applicants can also obtain the form from the branches of Vijaya Bank branches across India. Or candidates can obtain the application form from by sending written request by post at Veterinary Council of India, A Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi – 110066 with DD of Rs.1250/- for GC/OBC candidates and Rs.650/- for SC/ST candidates.
