Bachelors of Management Studies - BMS

Bachelors Of Management Studies (BMS) - Mumbai University
This course was introduced by the University of Mumbai in the year 1999-2000. With the growing demand for professionally qualified management executives, the course has been especially designed to create middle cadre management personnel. The BMS students are encouraged to develop the quintessential skills of effective communication, motivation and group dynamics.

BMS Course Syllabus (Mumbai University):

The duration of the course shall be six semesters spread over three years. The course shall consist of 40 modules comprising of 38 theory papers and 2 projects.

Bachelors of Mass Media - BMM

Bachelors Of Mass Media (BMM) - Mumbai University
This is a course introduced from the academic year 2000-2001, by the University of Mumbai. It has been designed to provide students with a firm grounding in communication skills. It aims to develop an ability for critical thinking and creativity and to give the students an opportunity to combine the theoretical curriculum with practical applications, through detailed research, lucid writing skills, oral presentation skills and a mastery of various mass communications media in our global information age. This course provides a starting point for students interested in pursuing a career mass media.

A candidate, for being eligible for admission to the B.M.M. degree course shall have passed XII std. Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto at one and the same sitting. Students who have passed the H.S.C. examination in Arts, Science or Commerce, are eligible to apply for this course.

There are 6 papers under each Semester and in the third year students can choose their area of specialization i.e. Advertising or Journalism. Each of these elective streams will have 6 papers respectively.
