Anaesthesiologist 
An Anaesthesiologist  or Anaesthetist is a physician who administers the drugs (anaesthetics) that reduce or eliminate the sensation of pain during or after a surgery or medical procedure. Anaesthesiologists work  with other physicians, medical specialists and surgeons to decide on treatments and operating procedures during and after surgery.
 



         
Ayurvedic Doctor
An Ayurvedic Doctor is a health care professional who diagnoses and treats people using ayurvedic medicine. Ayurveda emphasizes re-establishing balance in the body through diet, lifestyle, exercise, and body cleansing, and on the health of the mind, body, and spirit.





Cardiologist       
Cardiologist is a physician who specializes in internal medicine that concentrates on diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases.





Coroner              
Coroner directs activities such as autopsies, toxicological and pathological analyses, works on investigation of deaths to determine causes of death, and to fix responsibility for accidental, violent or unexplained deaths.


  

Dentist
A Dentist examines, diagnoses and treats diseases, injuries, malformations and problems of teeth and gums along with giving guidance on preventive care to avoid future problems. The Dentist helps in removing tooth decay, fill cavities, straighten teeth, examine x-rays and perform corrective surgeries on gums.



Dermatologist  
Dermatologist is a physician who is trained to treat diseases and conditions of the skin. The Dermatologist manages acute and chronic disorders of the skin, and also some cosmetic problems of the skin, scalp, hair and nails.

 



Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist
An Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Specialist (a.k.a. Otolaryngologist), provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with disorders and diseases that involve or affect the nose, ears, throat, and related structures of the head and neck.

Family Physician & General Practitioner
Family Physician & General Practitioner diagnoses, treats and helps prevent diseases and injuries that occur commonly in the general populations. The physician examines patients, takes medical history, prescribes medications, and orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests. The physician sometimes refers the patient with serious conditions to a medical specialist.


 
 
Homeopathy Doctor      
Homeopathy Doctor (a.k.a. Homeopath) is a health care professional who practises a complete system of natural medicine called homeopathy. Homeopathy is used to maintain good health, and to treat acute as well as chronic ailments.




Naturopathy Doctor      
Naturopathy Doctor (a.k.a. Naturopath) is a physician who practices naturopathic medicine which uses a variety of natural approaches to health and healing. The naturopath diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent diseases using natural medicine and exercise techniques.



Neurologist       
A Neurologist is a physician who specializes in neurology, and is trained to investigate, diagnose and treat neurological disorders and diseases; i.e. disorders related to the human nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves).



 
Obstetrician & Gynaecologist    
An Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (OB/GYN) is a physician who provides medical care related to pregnancy, child birth and female reproductive system. Duties include treating and counselling women throughout the pregnancy process, delivering babies, diagnosing and treating health issues related to women, such as cervical cancer, breast cancer, hormonal disorders and menopause. 


 
Ophthalmologist             
An Ophthalmologist diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent diseases and injuries of the eyes and eye structures such as cornea, sclera, conjunctiva or eyelids. The Ophthalmologist performs surgeries such as cataract, glaucoma, refractive, corneal and other oculoplastic surgeries.



Paediatrician

Psychiatrist

All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) 2012

The Veterinary Council of India (VCI) will conduct the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) 2012 on 12th May 2012. This exam is a gateway for admission to Bachelors of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry Courses (B.VSc. & AH) for the academic year 2012-13. The exam will be conducted by VCI to fill the 15% seats in governmental veterinary colleges. The duration of B.VSc. & AH degree course is spread over five complete academic years including a compulsory rotating internship of six months.

Eligibility criteria:
To be eligible for this exam, candidates should be Indian and candidates from state of Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible to appear for this exam as the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 has not been extended to this state.
Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Minimum marks for SC/ST and OBCs is 40%.
Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2012. Those attaining seventeen years on 1st January, 2013 or later will not be eligible for the admission.


Pattern of AIPVT:
It will be an objective type multiple choice paper and the duration of the exam will be 3 hours. This exam will cover the topics from PCB and the students will have to answer 200 questions in the prescribed time. It will be conducted in English language only and there will be negative marking for every wrong answer.

Registration Window:
Last date to register for the exam is 15th February, 2012 and students who belong to far flung areas like Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Lakshadweep and many others can submit the forms by March 3, 2012.

Application process:

Candidate can obtain the application form from Registrars of State Veterinary Councils on payment of Rs.1200/- for GC/OBC and Rs.600/- for SC/ST candidates through DD in favour of “Veterinary Council of India Examination Fund” payable at New Delhi on any scheduled bank. Applicants can also obtain the form from the branches of Vijaya Bank branches across India. Or candidates can obtain the application form from by sending written request by post at Veterinary Council of India, A Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi – 110066 with DD of Rs.1250/- for GC/OBC candidates and Rs.650/- for SC/ST candidates.
