IIT JEE 2012


For those seeking admission to Undergraduate Courses at Indian Institutes of Technology Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar,Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Patna, Punjab, Rajasthan, Roorkee, IT-BHU Varanasi, ISM Dhanbad have to appear for the IIT-JEE 2012 Entrance Examination on April 8, 2012.

Important Dates:
Start of On-line application process: October 31, 2011
Closing of On-line application process: December 10, 2011
Start of Off-line application sale: November 11, 2011
Close of Off-line application sale: December 5, 2011
Last date for receipt of completed forms at IITs: December 15, 2011
IIT JEE: April 8, 2012

Schedule of IIT-JEE 2012 :
The examination will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2012 as per the schedule given below:
Paper 1: 09.00 to 12.00 hrs (IST)
Paper 2: 14.00 to 17.00 hrs (IST)

Type of Examination:
There will be two question papers, each of three hours duration. Both the question papers will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

Application Procedure:
A candidate can submit application either on-line through internet or off-line through prescribed (OMR) application form.

  1. Hello Sir, I am presently in 11th Science. I want to get into engineering after my HSC. Which entrance exam other than JEE do I have to give for entry into Mechanical Engineering. Thanks. Pradip.

  2. Dear Pradip,

    Depending on which state and university you are applying, there are several entrance exams for engineering. The most common ones are IIT-JEE, AIEEE, MHT-CET (if you are applying for Maharashtra Colleges), BITSAT, BVPEEE, VITEEE.
